Job Description:
Responsible for the planning and the detailed production of the Council's statutory Statement of Accounts. This is the first year set of accounts for the newly formed Somerset Unitary Council.
The role acts as the key point of contact with internal and external stakeholders.
This is a very technical and specialist role which requires extensive and up to date knowledge of the latest regulations and best practice.
(HCC) A sound knowledge of current accounting standards (preferably International Financial Reporting Standards)
(HCC) A sound knowledge of the codes of practice and developments in connection with local authority accounting and accounting practise generally.
(HCC) A sound understanding of the current key developments in local authority finance.
