Pricing Analyst

Our client is a truly international law firm with offices in all the major business location across the globe.

The firm in question are now looking to hire a Pricing Analyst who will be supporting the Pricing Lead and Pricing Manager within the Legal Operations Pricing & Analysis team across the UK, US and EMEA region with all daily functions.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting partners and lawyers with their decision-making on any aspects of pricing.
  • Assisting on formal responses to tenders and other opportunities, including tactical pricing support.
  • Support the firm's global pricing approval process.
  • Undertake financial modelling and scenario analysis to support pricing decisions - client and matter-based pricing.
  • Supporting the design, development and implementation of pricing self-service tools.
  • Proactive financial modelling and scenario analysis to support pricing, better understand expected costs or matter management decisions and presenting findings to stakeholders.
  • Creating and running internal training sessions for lawyers, Pas and business services teams.
  • Identifying opportunities to leverage the skills of the wider Legal Operations teams and working with them. Seamlessly.
  • Develop capabilities to monitor financial performance against pricing plans.
  • Build relationships of trust and respect within the firm to become a trusted adviser
  • Support Partners and CRMs with client pricing negotiations through the provision of concise supporting data, recommendations, and advice on negotiation strategy
  • Act as an trusted advisor and specialist resource for Partners and Senior Associates when they are making pricing decisions.
  • Develop innovative pricing propositions that enhance the non-contentious practice groups' abilities to win profitable work
  • Analyse performance of existing pricing agreements to identify opportunities for enhancing current and future performance
  • Work closely with the wider Pricing and Legal Operations team, Partners, Business Finance and BD to create financial models specific to pricing scenario and explain/present results and impact to all levels of seniority
  • Execute the daily workflow for the firm's pricing approval process which originates in UK, US and EMEA
  • Provide analytical support to assist partners on optimal pricing in initial pricing and any renegotiation
  • Collaborate with the global Legal Operations team to design and deliver a suite of self-serve tools for matter teams to utilise on small to medium size opportunities
  • Manage the pricing opportunity log, value trackers and Pricing hub content
  • Support the identification of legal process design opportunities Collaborating with the Legal Automation team support the operationalising of appropriate legal technology solutions
  • Support practice groups to win new work and retain existing work in the Region through Legal Operations contributions to pitches/proposals

Candidate Profile

  • A keen understanding of Alternative Fee Arrangements
  • Experience in data analytics (analysing data sets)
  • Appropriate undergraduate/post graduate degree qualification
  • Experience of working in a pricing, project management or operational role in a professional services environment
  • Extremely numerate, with the proven ability to convert complex/raw data into concise and actionable intelligence
  • Understanding of law firm economics
  • Able to build relationships and influence all levels of seniority
  • Excellent skills across Microsoft office 365 products (Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint)
  • Experience of using a Financial Practice Management System e.g. Aderant Expert (preferred but not a necessity)
  • Excellent training and presentation skills
