The temporary candidate will have the opportunity to apply for a permanent position within the company following the temporary period.

Description
The Accounts Payable/Banking Supervisor will:

Ensure all transaction processing is accurate, timely and in line with company policies, processes, and controls

Purchase ledgers: all invoices are to be processed quickly and accurately, creditors to be paid promptly
-
Payments: supplier accounts to be settled within agreed payment terms
-
Ensure that Purchase orders are being matched to invoices correctly
-
Management of company credit cards and out of pocket staff expenses
-
Ensure that out of pocket expenses are paid to agreed timescales
-
Ensure that Credit card expenses are reconciled to statements on a monthly basis

Staff Management
-
Provide support and guidance to junior members of the finance team, including assistance with implementing developed processes within the finance team, advising on finance related queries, and managing deadlines

Conduct Finance Induction for new staff

Support Finance team during busy times and provide absence cover if required

Assist with the preparation of management accounts, including responsibility for:

Preparation of accrual and prepayment journals

Reconciliation of relevant balance sheet accounts

Internet banking, including daily download of bank statements and upload of payment files

Reconciliation of bank account at least weekly

Profile
The Accounts Payable and Banking Supervisor will be/have:
Experience
- Part qualified in recognised Professional Accountancy Qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) and/or qualified by experience
- Experience within a busy transactional finance role
- Experience mentoring or managing a team
Skills
- Sound technical accounting knowledge
- Ability to plan and prioritise work generated from multiple sources and to ensure effective communication and redirection of general finance queries
- Highly numerate and analytical, excellent attention to detail with a high level of IT literacy including advanced Excel skills (Pivot tables, VLookups etc)
- Sound communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to communicate financial matters to a broad range of audiences
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate confidently and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Team player with good relationship building and influencing skills; enjoys working in a collaborative manner in an open, honest, and diverse environment
- Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively across multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders, explaining complicated matters simply
