Commissioning Manager

The starting salary for this role is £52,047 per annum, working 36 hours per week.

We are excited to be hiring a Commissioning Manager to join our fantastic Adult Disabilities Commissioning Team as an 18-month fixed term contract or secondment opportunity. The role will be focused on transition to adulthood for people with disabilities, working with partners to improve our data and projections, and working closely with Senior Commissioning Managers to develop, shape and manage the provider market in response.

The contractual base is Woodhatch Place, 11 Cockshot Hill, Reigate RH2 8EF but the team works in an agile way with a mix of part home and part office working.

The role will include relationship management for a number of key providers supporting people with a learning disability and autistic people, and will include visiting providers and their service settings.

About the Team

The Disabilities Commissioning team is part of the Adults, Wellbeing and Health Partnerships directorate. We are a supportive team, working closely with our health colleagues to deliver an integrated commissioning approach and improve the outcomes for disabled people in Surrey.

About the Role

You will work with the team to deliver all aspects of commissioning Adult Social Care for disabled people. A key part of this will be partnership working with internal and external teams and organisations, and coproduction with people who use services and their carers. You will be developing and managing the market for supported independent living, community opportunities for everyday living, carers short breaks and preventative approaches, to ensure providers are delivering affordable, quality services, which support strengths-based working, and help people with adult social care needs to live their best lives.

Shortlisting Criteria

To be considered for shortlisting for this position, your application will clearly evidence the following:

  • Commissioning experience or a strong understanding of commissioning and a passion for improving outcomes for people
  • The ability to confidently engage and build relationships with disabled people, their carers, our provider market and other health and care stakeholders
  • Project management and organisational skills
  • An understanding of the current challenges and opportunities in support for people with a learning disability, autistic people and people with a physical disability or sensory impairment, particularly for young people in transition to adulthood.
