About The Royal College of Chiropractors

The Royal College of Chiropractors is a registered charity promoting quality, safety and professionalism in chiropractic. They are an apolitical professional membership body that promotes and supports high standards of education, practice and research, enabling chiropractors to provide, and be recognised for providing high quality care for patients.

The RCC is incorporated by Royal Charter (2012) and was granted its Royal prefix to help the public understand that the College has a similar role to the Medical Royal Colleges, in terms of promoting standards for practice quality, running postgraduate training for new graduates, providing continuing professional development opportunities and supporting research.

The Role

Gilbert Meher is proud to partner with The Royal College of Chiropractors in the search for an inspirational Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This is a unique opportunity for a visionary leader to steer the College through its next phase of growth and influence. Reporting directly to the Council and working closely with the President, the CEO will be the strategic and operational leader of the College, responsible for delivering the College's mission to promote excellence in chiropractic care. You will be required to be very hands-on in the role and work with a small team in an attractive working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a long-term strategy that ensures the College remains at the forefront of chiropractic practice and education.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee the efficient management of all College activities, including member services, educational programs, and research initiatives.
  • Governance & Compliance: Ensure robust governance practices are maintained, and the College operates in full compliance with its Royal Charter and relevant regulations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government bodies, healthcare organisations, and the wider chiropractic community.
  • Advocacy: Represent the College at national and international levels, advocating for the chiropractic profession and influencing healthcare policy.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and experienced leader with a proven track record in executive roles within healthcare, education, or professional bodies. They will possess a deep understanding of the healthcare landscape and demonstrate strong strategic acumen, operational expertise, and exceptional stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience in a senior leadership role, preferably within a membership body, healthcare, medical education and/or academia background would be desirable.
  • A broad understanding of the private healthcare sector and the NHS is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans and manage complex operations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to engage and influence at the highest levels.
  • A commitment to the values and mission of The Royal College of Chiropractors.
