About Us

Three Rivers District in South West Hertfordshire straddles the north-west corner of the M25 on the edge of Greater London. We are now looking for an Apprentice Gardener to join us on a full-time basis for an 18-month fixed-term contract, working 37 hours per week.

The Role

As an Apprentice Gardener, you will assist our Gardening Team in providing a high-quality gardening and horticulture service for the Crematorium Gardens of Remembrance.

You'll perform a range of gardening duties, including hoeing, weeding, leaf raking and clearing floral tributes.

As you progress through your training and study for your Level 2 Horticulture and Landscape Operative qualification, you'll take on additional responsibilities such as grass cutting, hedge trimming, spraying and seasonal planting.

Additionally, you will:

- Maintain the flower terrace, cloisters and car parking areas
- Clean and repaint Garden Memorial Benches
- Prepare and attend the Annual Open Air Service

About You

- A sensitive and customer-focused attitude
- Flexibility and a team-oriented approach
- Excellent communication skills
- An interest in grounds maintenance and horticultural tasks
- To be educated to GCSE level in Maths and English

Please note, the role requires flexibility to work some weekends and public holidays on a rota basis.
