**Join Our Growing Team as a Buyer!

We are a well-established assembly manufacturing business based in Sheffield, specialising in the production of precision-engineered products for a global customer base. As our business continues to expand, we're looking for an experienced and proactive Buyer to join our procurement team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with international sourcing experience to play a key role in ensuring a smooth, cost-effective, and timely supply of components from suppliers across Europe, the Far East, and the USA.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Source, negotiate, and manage procurement of mechanical and electronic components from overseas suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Monitor supplier performance and lead-time adherence.
  • Work closely with engineering, planning, and production teams to understand and forecast part requirements.
  • Coordinate import logistics, including customs documentation and international shipping.
  • Analyse market trends, currency fluctuations, and geopolitical risks affecting supply.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal quality standards.

**Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience in a buyer or procurement role, ideally within manufacturing or engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of international sourcing, especially from Europe, Asia (Far East), and North America.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and supplier management skills.
  • Understanding of Incoterms, customs procedures, and import documentation.
  • Highly organised, commercially aware, and confident with data and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
  • CIPS qualification (or working towards) is an advantage.
