What this role is all about:

The mission is to develop and maintain a resilient, scalable and repeatable IT Service Management (ITSM) application, that is used across Vitality as an entry point to Services for both internal colleagues and external members and partners.

You will assist is day to day operation and support of services and integrations within our ITSM application. This requires a deep understanding of the services, and knowledge of the services that utilise the ITSM to support their customers.

Overcoming technical and logistical challenges to ensure smooth service operation is vital.

You will be expected to engage and support with technical and complex projects, in addition to managing their own workloads effectively.

Key Actions

  • Maintain the ITSM application, services, and integrations to a high standard.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Utilise scripting languages such as JavaScript, HTML and CSS to enhance the functionality and user experience of the ITSM application.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the software behaves as designed by testing it for bugs and performance during all stages of the development process.
  • Assist in maintaining detailed documentation of application design.
  • Support the day-to-day maintenance and admin of the system where required.
  • Attends team and project calls, actively contributing to discussion and debate.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in the ITSM application and integrations.
  • Stay up to date with the product releases and understand how these can add value to the different business areas that use the ITSM application.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts of the team and the users of the ITSM system.

Essential Skills needed to fulfil this role:

  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and under own direction.
  • Detail-oriented and possess strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and projects.
  • Must have a passion for automation and continuous learning.
  • Able to contribute with constructive feedback to continually improve processes and systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Understanding of ITIL processes and concepts, e.g., Service Catalog, CMDB etc.
  • Experience with at least one programming language - preferably HTML, JavaScript, CSS.
  • Experience of working in an IT environment.
