Health, Safety, Quality Manager

Basic Function

  • To provide support and guidance in relation to quality management and assurance for site.
  • Ensuring continuous site quality conformity in relation to the products processes.
  • To ensure site complies with the requirements of ISO9001/IATF16949 Quality management systems, ISO14001 Environmental Management Systems, along with any customer specific requirements specified.
  • Ensure that all site employees are always operating in line with Company Health and Safety procedures.

Essential Functions - Health and Safety

  • Risk assessments writing / Updating
  • Ensure Sufficient First Aiders and training in date
  • Carry out HSE audits - manage actions to closure
  • Manage fire extinguishers (serviced & suitable)
  • Ensure emergency stops & guarding is tested
  • Controlling first aid boxes
  • Ensure Display Screen equipment assessments are carried out
  • Ensure FLT drivers are suitably qualified
  • Ensure Fire Marshalling / Training is sufficient
  • Ensure Manual Handling Training is carried out.
  • Compiling & updating COSHH assessments
  • Updating SVHC lists - monitoring & updating MSDS
  • Ensure LEV's are sufficient and Compliant - inc atmosphere testing
  • Ensure Fire Risk assessments are sufficient & Compliant
  • Ensure Air Receivers are compliant
  • Ensure Load Bearing Equipment is Compliant
  • Ensure Emergency Evacuation Drills are carried out and Compliant
  • Managing Contractors booking in system.
  • Managing H&S Concerns & Incidents.
  • Supporting Compliance manager with the successful execution of compliance requirements, PAT testing, Legionella, lifting equipment etc.

Ensuring Health & Safety of all staff is a primary objective with all staff trained and provided with all necessary PPE to perform any task necessary

Essential Functions - Quality

  • Completion of customer concern reports [QCR] with Team input.
  • Execution of internal Process audits in accordance with ISO9001 and IATF16949
  • Arranging and Management of external audit activity for customers.
  • Managing the Quality Department - Maintaining HR files, new starter inductions & including training.
  • Arranging and controlling internal & external equipment, calibration.
  • Maintenance of controlled documentation, including FMEA, Control Plans, SOP's & care points.
  • Compilation of monthly quality reports, as directed.
  • Managing APQP activities, including producing PPAP's when required.
  • Contract review of all new jobs - including specification review.
  • Compiling Key Performance Indicator reports.
  • Managing/analysis of customer and internal rejects and report daily.
  • Visiting customers in response to customer concerns.
  • Ownership of material control and develop a reporting tool linked to final audit.
  • Produce a daily quarantine area report and take control of sorting personnel.
  • Control all first and last offs including sample audits of suppliers [WEP's] work.
  • Material audits of incoming products.
  • Liaising with the Group Compliance Manager to ensure that localised QMS complies with requirements in relation to ISO9001/IATF16949/ISO14001 Management Systems and Customer Specific requirements.

Additional Responsibilities

Completes and performs other duties/tasks as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

Working Knowledge and Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working in a Health, Safety and Quality environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Quality Manager.
  • Strong communicator with customers via meetings, e-mails and telephone.
  • A strong team player, with a 'Can-do' attitude.
  • Computer literate, with ability to use Microsoft Office.
  • Working Knowledge of Quality Management systems, with knowledge of ISO9001/ IATF16949.
  • Familiarisation of ISO45001
  • Familiarisation of Core tool: FMEA, APQP, PPAP, MSA and SPC
  • Able to work under pressure and use initiative to get tasks completed.
  • Ability to communicate well with staff and Management Teams across the group when needed.
  • Ability to execute internal audit activity.
  • Must possess a professional and mature can-do attitude.
  • Current driving Licence holder.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of metal finishing processes an advantage
  • Automotive experience.
  • IATF16949 Lead Auditor Qualification
  • Understanding of ISO14001.

Education:

  • Time served in a comparable role in quality management.
  • ISO9001/IATF16949 Internal auditor training.
  • Familiarisation of Quality tools and techniques.
