Are you an experienced SEN Primary Teaching Assistant looking for your next role in Nelson?

Tradewind are currently recruiting for a hardworking and organised level 2 primary teaching assistant for a very popular school in Nelson. The role is a long -term temporary role to start in September and is until December 2024, with the potential to extend due to funding, you will be working full time 8.30-3.30 5 days a week.

This 1-form entry Primary School is looking for an experienced SEN teaching assistant to join their team. They place a great deal of emphasis on friendship, compassion, respect and perseverance. This primary school has a strong Christian ethos and has close links with parents, carers and the local community.

This primary school is looking for a confident, friendly SEN teaching assistant to work within their reception class working with several children with SEN. The successful candidate must have excellent behaviour management, a good knowledge of the National Curriculum and have prior experience of phonics and supporting children with autism and challenging behaviour.

To join us and be successful in this Teaching Assistant role you will need to:

  • Hold a Level 2teaching assistant qualification or equivalent
  • Experience of working in EYFS and phonics
  • Experience of working with SEN including Autism, challenging behaviour, and PECS
  • This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
  • Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained
  • You must have the legal right to work in the UK
