Learning Support Assistant Needed in Burgess Hill

Position: Learning Support Assistant
Location: Burgess Hill, West Sussex
Role: Primary SEN based, 1-1 support

About the Role:

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a primary school in Burgess Hill. The role involves close 1-1 work with students who have special educational needs (SEN), providing them with the necessary support to thrive academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with students on a 1-1 basis, providing personalized support.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Support the classroom teacher in managing student behaviour and ensuring a positive learning environment.
  • Engage with children in a respectful and supportive manner, encouraging their participation in school activities.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children, particularly those with SEN, is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other support staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's education.

Contract Details:

  • Start Date: September 2024
  • Contract Type: Temporary with the potential for a permanent position
  • Hours: Full-time, 8:30 am - 4:00 pm
  • Pay Rate: Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications
