At Sopra Steria, we are developing an innovative Managed Service to replace a complex legacy enterprise infrastructure. This ambitious project will harness the power of automation and reusable component design patterns, enabling swift deployment of customer business solutions. Utilising the latest in Windows and VMware technologies, along with Ansible, Terraform, and advanced scripting, we are set to redefine efficiency and scalability in niche infrastructure and applications.

We are looking for a talented System Administrator with expertise in Microsoft Configuration Manager (formerly MECM, SCCM) to join our dynamic team within a cutting-edge Hyperconverged Infrastructure platform (HCI). As an MCM specialist, you will take charge of the platform's patch management process, including WSUS configuration, patch deployment, and compliance monitoring. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining the security and stability through meticulous patch management practices. Additionally, you will oversee the administration of application groups for users and devices, reporting, software distribution, OS deployments, and Task Sequences. The ideal candidate will showcase exceptional technical skills within a scalable environment, along with the ability to design, implement, and automate robust environments.

This is an office based role in Farnborough.

What you'll be doing:

  • Manage and maintain MCM infrastructure, including site server configuration, client deployment, and software update point (SUP) configuration.
  • MCM system management
  • Configure and manage WSUS (Windows Server Update Services) for deploying and managing software updates to Windows-based servers and client devices.
  • Linux systems patching (vulnerability and improvement)
  • Develop and implement patch management strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure timely and effective patch deployment across the platform.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to facilitate knowledge sharing and support continuity of operations.
