The talent acquisition team at NET Recruit are partnering with a manufacturing business to support their campaign for a Quality Manager to join the team in Chichester. Specialising in the manufacture and production of various food products and they provide these to some of the leading business in the UK. They are embarking on a period of stable growth and as such require Quality Managers to support their increasing demand and activities across multiple sites.

The position holder in this role will have oversight over the quality team and wider function to provide training and support to junior members and to ensure that daily operations are able to move forward without any problems. The position holder will be expected to be knowledgeable on food safety, legal compliance and will ensure adherence to quality standards. As this is a food manufacturing business, any applicant must come from a

food manufacturing background.

The position holder WILL be working in a Panama shift pattern consisting of 12-hour days. You will be responsible for 1 shift rotation, which will mean every other weekend off. This shift pattern is non-negotiable, and the position holder will be collaborating with other Quality Managers to ensure workload is split fairly across the shifts.

Your Role and Responsibilities

While in this position your duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Taking ownership for the assurance of technical food safety, quality standards and ensuring that customer COPs are implemented
  • Keeping an active presence in the factory, walking through the premises throughout the day and assess food safety and GMP standards, conducting risk assessments, training and inspections to ensure the site is a safe working environment
  • Ensuring that any issues that arise are promptly tackled and resolved and key stakeholders are kept updated and involved when needed
  • Actioning customer complaints in a proactive manner in collaboration with key stakeholders to address any points that are needed
  • Investigate and report on all BRC and customer audit non-conformance reports
  • Supporting upcoming product launches by attending occasional product feasibility sessions
  • Implementing and auditing a HACCP plan
  • Preparing for and managing customer audits
  • Handling the site budget reconciliation and invoicing
  • Collaborating with production managers to prepare management reports and trend analysis
  • Keeping the CCP, Allergen Validations and Verifications updated
  • Ensuring that schedules for both shelf-life and nutrition are accurate and updated

What you will need to Apply:

To be considered for this role, applicants must have a technical qualification

(degree/HNC) in a relevant field

, their

Food Safety/Food Hygiene Level 3

and preferably also the

HACCP Level 3

too. Additionally, candidates should have strong experience working in a manufacturing/production environment and

specifically within the food industry

  • A good

understanding of microbiology

alongside excellent

internal auditing skills

are also required. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities are highly sought after in the position holder, particularly with both internal and external parties. The resilience to work and make judgement calls under pressure will be of the upmost importance in this position.
