Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about music education and has a minimum of 6 months of teaching experience in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging music lessons for Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring adherence to the curriculum and academic standards.
  • Student Engagement: Foster an interest in music among students through innovative teaching methods and practical activities.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Regularly evaluate student progress via exams, performances, and coursework, offering constructive feedback to aid their growth.
  • Classroom Management: Establish a positive classroom atmosphere and effectively manage student behaviour to maximise learning outcomes.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest developments in music education and participate in professional development opportunities provided by the school.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues and the school to enhance overall educational success.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Hold a relevant Music or Music Education degree with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience: A minimum of six months of secondary teaching experience within the UK education system.
  • Knowledge: Demonstrate a deep understanding of the National Curriculum for Music and contemporary teaching methodologies.
  • Skills: Exhibit exceptional communication and engagement skills, with an ability to motivate students.
  • Passion: Display genuine passion for music and teaching, with a commitment to establishing a positive learning environment.
  • Safeguarding: Show a thorough grasp of safeguarding and child protection protocols.
