MEI are currently looking for an experience Electrician to join our Kirkintilloch based team.

We have 23 years of experience delivering tailored installations and repair works to our local and global customers.

With our Global reach we have delivered projects all over the world from cruise ships to offshore oil rigs and tankers.

We are currently looking to expand our electrical team to help with our growing project demand.

Marine Electrician - About the Role

We are a well established company specialising in marine electrics. Our team of electricians specialise in Installation, Maintenance and Technical Support on vessels around the world. Our work can range from a simple light fitting change or an annual safety check to a full rewiring of a vessel.

In this role you will be on the front line, helping us deliver projects to our customers satisfaction. No two jobs are ever the same so we will require your assistance with problem solving and working together with other member of the team to get the job done. Due to our client base we conduct work around the UK and internationally. A large part of the work therefore includes travelling.

Marine Electrician - About you:

  • Be a qualified Electrician (Marine experience would be preferred).
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Electrical systems, Power Generation, Fault Finding, Installation and show interest in the marine sector.
  • Be confident with Fault Finding on AC/DC LV systems, conducting electrical installations, testing and maintain LV Switchboard, Control Panels, Motors and Generators.
  • Be able to read and understand schematic drawings.
  • Have good interpersonal skills, being able to interact with customers and crew.
  • Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team.
  • Be willing to travel nationally and internationally at short notice.
  • Be an excellent team player.
  • Be good at problem-solving, decision-making and critical thinking.
  • Be fluent in written and spoken English.
  • OGUK/OEUK/ENG1/BOSIET/GWO certificates would be a bonus.
