A prestigious college is looking for a diligent and reliable cleaner to maintain a clean, welcoming, and safe environment for learners, staff, and visitors. Key duties include multi-surface cleaning, operating cleaning machines, and preparing buildings for daily use while adhering to safety protocols.

Responsibilities also include reporting any health and safety issues to the Estates Team and performing deep cleaning or sanitising tasks as required. Full training and instructions will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake a variety of cleaning operations across allocated areas of the college, ensuring a clean, welcoming, and safe environment for learners, employees, and visitors.
  • Perform cleaning tasks on different surfaces, utilising appropriate techniques and equipment as trained.
  • Operate cleaning machinery and equipment according to provided training and instructions to maintain cleanliness standards.
  • Ensure all designated buildings are ready for use each day by completing necessary cleaning tasks and checks.
  • Apply cleaning products and materials in accordance with safety instructions and training to prevent hazards and maintain safety standards.
  • Actively monitor and report any faults or potential issues that could impact health and safety, ensuring they are communicated to the Estates Team for prompt resolution.

  • Use all cleaning products and materials as per established protocols and training guidelines.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience in a cleaning role, preferably within an office or educational environment, including the use of various cleaning equipment and substances.
  • Possess or be willing to work towards an NVQ Level 1 in Cleaning (or equivalent), along with Level 2 English and Maths qualifications, and a First Aid at Work certificate.
  • Demonstrate a high level of flexibility and adaptability in responding to changes in workload and urgent cleaning tasks.
  • Ability to support and collaborate with colleagues across the Estates/Facilities team to ensure efficient operation and cleanliness.
