About the Role:
Myn is looking for a dedicated and experienced Adolescent Safeguarding Social Worker to join a dynamic team in North-East Surrey. This role is for a motivated professional with a passion for safeguarding adolescents and helping them thrive within a family setting. As part of the Family Resilience, Safeguarding, and Corporate Parenting team, you'll work closely with children and families, using motivational interviewing and a strengths-based approach to support positive changes and ensure children's wellbeing and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Planning: Conduct detailed assessments of adolescents' and families' needs, developing SMART plans that address risks and support the young person's development.
- Safeguarding & Interventions: Identify and address risks, engage in child protection investigations, and coordinate effective support through multi-agency collaboration.
- Direct Support & Guidance: Use motivational interviewing to work directly with families, promoting positive behavioural changes and providing expert advice on care plans.
- Record Keeping & Reporting: Maintain high-quality records, prepare clear reports for meetings and court proceedings, and ensure all documentation meets policy standards.
- Partnership Building: Collaborate with legal services, health professionals, and other social work teams to provide cohesive, high-level support to children and families.

About You:
- Qualifications: Professional social work qualification (CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent) and Social Work England registration.
- Experience: Minimum three years in a child protection team within a UK statutory setting, with a proven track record in safeguarding adolescents.
- Skills: Strong ability to engage families, make sound judgements, and communicate effectively in complex situations.
- Knowledge: Up-to-date on UK child protection law, statutory guidance, and Working Together 2018.
- Attributes: Confident, empathetic, and able to inspire positive change through supportive, strengths-based approaches.
Requirements:
- Satisfactory DBS clearance.
- Willingness to travel within Dorset and work flexibly, including occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
