Accounts Assistant

We are an expanding multi company group of vehicle hire businesses with our Head Office in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire.

We are seeking to recruit a Full time Accounts Assistant within Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger reporting to the Finance Supervisor and Finance Manager for both Retail and Corporate Customers for 5 locations across the UK.

Role could suit someone currently studying AAT as you will receive all round experience.

This is a fast paced role which will need someone with strong IT skills and excellent levels of communication both written and verbal. Must be able to multi task.

Full time position, 08:00 to 16:30 with 30 Mins Lunch per week.

Hours can be flexible but subject to maximum 40 hours per week.

Job Summary

Sales Ledger

  • Daily Banking
  • Processing all Bank Receipts BACS, CHQ, CASH and DD
  • Verify paperwork daily banking sheets from our 5 Branch locations
  • Cash Allocation and Reconcile Cash Accounts
  • Weekly update with Credit Controller
  • Cover for Credit Controller

Purchase Ledger

  • Credit Card Accounts payment transactions
  • Fuel Accounts
  • Fleet Accounts
  • Recharges to Internal Companies
  • Reconcile Purchase Ledger Statements
  • Cover for Purchase Ledger Assistant
  • Importing Invoices into Sage using Paperless and Following Workflow for Authorisation

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

  • Would Suit someone studying AAT
  • Experience of Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger
  • Strong IT skills with excellent Sage 50, Excel, and Word skills
  • Logical, methodical, and able to handle several activities in parallel
  • Must be detail orientated
