Maintenance Fitter

- Working Hours: 07:30-16:00 (40hr week with a 30min unpaid break)

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Fitter to join our team of 14 professionals at our facility near Heathrow Airport. This role is perfect for individuals with a basic understanding of mechanical systems and basic welding experience, who are looking for long-term commitment which leads to career progression opportunities.
Day to Day of the Role:
- Conduct inspections, repairs, and servicing of cargo movement/handling equipment.
- Maintain various equipment components including cable drum brakes, wheel bearings, conveyor roller beds, chassis, and turntables.
- Occasionally apply welding techniques for equipment repair and maintenance.
- Perform additional tasks as required, contributing to the team and company's success.
- Work efficiently under pressure, ensuring high-quality maintenance.
- Embrace continuous learning and skill development in a hands-on environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Rudimentary understanding of mechanical systems.
- Basic welding experience.
- Hands-on attitude and practical experience.
- Entry Level (L2) English Literacy Skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment.
- Driven to learn and apply new skills in a practical setting.
- Capable of working both individually and as part of a team.
- HNC, NVQ, City & Guilds Apprenticeship or similar qualifications are desirable.
Desirable:
- Welding
- Willing to gain from doing Overtime (Not required but desirable)
- Candidates with a long-term commitment to the role, with aspirations to progress to workshop supervisor positions or explore potential roles within the business and prosperous parent companies.
Additional Requirements:
- Must have the right to work in the UK, either British citizenship or Indefinite Leave to Remain.
- Open to temporary to permanent opportunities, with a conversion timeframe of 12-20 weeks.
- Temporary pay rates will be based on experience.
