We're in search of a Credit professional to join our client's commercial bank to join their leasing/asset finance division.
In this role, you'll be focused on providing lending solutions, particularly financing new equipment for construction companies, which often involves fleet transactions up to £5 million per deal.
The available position is for an underwriter tasked with structuring credit for new customers. Here are the key responsibilities:
- Evaluate and approve credit proposals, ensuring portfolio quality.
- Offer commercial recommendations for new business applications that exceed the Senior Underwriter's credit mandate.
- Assist in drafting credit papers for the AL/Credit Committee.
- Process a high volume of proposals efficiently, ensuring timely service.
- Support the Head of Credit in achieving KPIs for the asset finance sales support department.
- Ensure compliance with legal processes and statutory requirements, including the Consumer Credit Act, Data Protection Act, Anti-Money Laundering Procedures, and Fraud prevention.
- Attend meetings with brokers and maintain regular contact to discuss potential transactions.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the Asset Finance sector in a decision-making capacity.
- Proficiency in analysing financial accounts and assessing proposals up to £1 million.
- Strong numeracy, literacy, administrative, organisational, and communication skills.
- Self-motivated and a collaborative team player.
