We have an opening for an Commercial & Finance Assistant role working closely with the Commercial and Finance teams. The ideal candidate will have worked within the construction industry and be familiar with the payment applications process.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the process of populating and raising applications for payment (AFPs).
  • Ensuring any AFPs raised are clients within the agreed due dates.
  • Liaise with PM and PMA to understand project specific issues and their commercial implications.
  • Chasing Payment certificates and Payless notices.
  • Providing substantiation and liaise with client to understand any specific requirements.
  • Update Project Finance Tracker and AFPs using certified values.
  • Raise invoice against Payment certificate received.
  • Chasing payments from customers.
  • Maintain file structure and best practice management of files / processes.
  • Reviewing and pursuing due retentions on projects.
  • Assist in relevant monthly reporting.
  • Support and cross train in day-to-day finance functions as required.
  • Any other ad hoc duties as required by your line Manager or Company directors.

Person Specification

  • Understanding of construction industry commercial process such as Applications For Payment, Payment Certificates, Pay less Notices and Variations.
  • Maintain good relationships with multiple clients.
  • Demonstrable experience in a commercial and/ or Finance administrative role.
  • Desire to get work-streams completed and work as part as close-knit team.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good excel skills.
  • Role will be office based in the Chichester area.

Remuneration and Package details:

  • Pay scale £30k to £35k.
