Reward Specialist - Projects role in central Reading with a heavy focus on projects across both compensation and benefits. Description

Reward Specialist - Projects required to embark on a new, exciting journey with our key client.

This is a pivotal time to join as our client continues to embrace their commitment to deliver on their key objectives.

You will play an integral role to ensure the effective development and delivery of Reward related processes and policy, working closely with key stakeholders in HR, business leaders and our union Partnership.

  • Plan, develop, deliver and embed reward related projects, based on delivery of our Reward Framework, based on feedback from key stakeholders in HR, business leaders and our union Partnership.
  • Design and lead implementation of reward change projects including, but not limited to implementation of pay progression schemes, review of working patterns and shift allowances, review of how secondments are managed and rewarded.
  • Ensure projects are well managed through planning, stakeholder engagement, systems change, process change, policy change and sustainable design.
  • Ensure processes are automated and streamlined and look for opportunities to continuously improve for managers and the People Services team.
  • Ensure reward communications are timely and easy to understand and coach HR colleagues and managers to help develop their reward knowledge.
  • Build strong relationships with Heads of HR, HR Consultants, People Services and the Resourcing team to enable a proactive approach to reward.
  • Keep abreast of trends and thinking in reward, bringing innovative ideas to challenge the status-quo within our current practices.

Our client offers hybrid working, typically in the office in central Reading once or twice per week - Wednesday is a key day in the office.

Profile

A successful Reward Specialist - Projects should have/offer:

Essential:

  • Demonstrable experience managing and leading a range of Reward projects - preferably across both Compensation and Benefits.
  • Good breadth of compensation and benefits experience gained in an operational business.
  • Experience improving and developing reward processes.
  • Strong analytical skills, high numeracy and curiosity to find and interrogate data using Excel knowledge.
  • Good communication skills to advise and influence HR colleagues.
  • Attention to detail and strong planning and organisational skills to deliver processes on time, accurately and which enhance the employee experience.
  • Must be able to work from the office in central Reading 1-2 times per week.

Desirable:

  • SAP HR knowledge.
  • PowerBI knowledge.
  • Working with trade unions.
  • Post-secondary qualification in an analytical subject e.g. Statistics, Maths.
  • Professional recognition i.e. CIPD.

Job Offer

This Reward Specialist - Projects role offers the following:

  • A competitive base salary range of £50,000 - £55,000 per year.
  • Annual Leave entitlement of 26 days holiday per year (plus Bank Holiday) - increasing to 30 days with the length of service.
  • Contributory pension - Defined Contribution - employer double-matches to a maximum of 6% employee and 12% employer.
