One of our large automotive clients is currently looking for an experience HR advisor to join their team

Responsible for providing a professional HR service across the organisation to line managers, ensuring that Policies and Procedures are implemented in line with the People Strategy and Business Objectives. The role works within a team of Senior HR Advisors and as a group of professionals, is required to work independently and problem solve as a peer learning group to react and respond quickly. The role is to push the digital agenda of HR and drive the change in relation to creating / providing engaging line manager communications, in order to support up skilling and reduce reactive people topics.

Employee Lifecycle

  • Advise recruiting managers on offer proposals for external and internal candidates in line with reward and benefits guidelines, as well as ensuring grading / development programme adherence.
  • Manage all complex employee relations casework, up to and including dismissal, as well as subsequent Employment Tribunal claims. Use problem solving skills, legislation knowledge and previous experiences to guide managers through the process. Share best practice and learning from these situations with other Senior HR Advisors to encourage peer learning and independence within the group.
  • Ensure that all absence, flexible working requests, performance management, grievance and disciplinary processes are managed fairly and consistently in line with Company Policy
  • Influence and coach managers on policy best practice, including relevant case law and the implications of not following.

Professional Advice & Coaching

  • Build manager capability in effective people management by providing expert HR advice, guidance and coaching on all issues connected to the employment relationship
  • Produce proactive, innovative, engaging manager communications to upskill the people manager population. Provide 'How to Guides' and other information to support them to be the best leader they can be in their role. Identify issues and work with the Communications Department to support with creative communications to solve the problem / address the theme.

Work in partnership with the L&D team to advise on areas identified for line manager upskilling and support with any technical / legal input.

  • Actively contribute to the development, review and implementation of HR policies, procedures and initiatives in line with employment legislation, best practice and business objectives. Proactively identify initiatives to be addressed by using data / themes via reporting and insight from cases / employee relations issues.

Act as a HR representative on strategic business projects (as appropriate)

Act as the key knowledge holder and go to person within the group of Senior HR Advisors on defined topics, by facilitating the transfer of learning to others.

  • Key knowledge holder status will be gained from researching, benchmarking, attending training workshops/seminars/webinars on the topic.
  • Represent at different forums e.g. Group (AG and VWUK/Porsche GB), MIIRG on these topics.

Able to Challenge, drive and support business areas to ensure appropriate Governance of people processes

  • A proven track record in a fast-moving generalist HR Operational role
  • Demonstrable experience of managing complex employee relation cases, settlement agreements and Tribunal Preparation
  • Good communication and influencing skills
  • Good relationship building skills
  • Proven experience of coaching line managers
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and manage conflicting priorities
  • Proactive, enthusiastic and passionate about HR delivery and digitalisation
  • Experience of project management and implementation across functional areas
  • Role model for desired Values and Behaviours
  • Thorough knowledge of current UK employment legislation is essential
  • Competent at reporting, interpreting, understanding and presenting KPIs/data in order to make recommendations to the business
  • Competent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

CIPD diploma (Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development) essential
