We are working with a leading independent bridging finance provider based in London. We are looking for a Credit Manager to join the growing business. As a Credit Manager you will play a crucial role in supporting the Credit Function in the assessment and management of credit risk across all loan products, ensuring that appropriate measures are in place to identify and mitigate risks during the underwriting and loan monitoring processes. This role requires an experienced individual with a property finance background.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and assessment of new deal proposals and credit papers for submission / recommendation to Credit Committee, ensuring loans are in line with the credit risk framework.
  • Accurate and timely recording of Credit Committee decisions and tracking any conditions are satisfied by the Underwriting and Loan Management teams through the loan lifecycle.
  • Analysis of key risks and mitigating factors in a transaction including valuation, borrower experience and viability of exit strategies.
  • Support underwriters on structuring loan terms for large and complex cases.
  • Assist Underwriting and Sales teams with credit policy and process queries.
  • Support the Credit Function in producing periodic market reports and credit strategy papers to relevant internal and external stakeholders.

Policies and Processes:

  • Assist with the maintenance of credit risk policies and underwriting processes.
  • Assist senior management in identifying potential process enhancements to improve efficiencies and instil robust risk control mechanisms.
  • Work closely with Compliance and Legal teams to ensure alignment of policies and overall approach to risk assessment.

Role Requirements:

  • Previous experience in property finance gained within either a direct lending environment or a credit focused role.
  • Ability to analyse transaction diligence such as credit models, financial statements, valuation reports and legal documentation.
  • Strong technical and IT skills, including good working knowledge of Word and Excel and familiarity with internal systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Well organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Proactive and commercially minded.
  • Experience across a variety of real estate asset classes and different loan products is desirable but not essential.
