Storesperson
Job Role
Our client based near Wisbech are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join their unique business as a storesperson. The successful applicant is to take responsibility for assisting and organising the arrival, storage and issuing of material movements in and around the facility.
Job Responsibilities
- Boxing and palletising orders by carrier and priority in timely manner, coordinate with packing team and Distribution Coordinator on priorities and any queries.
- Daily order picking
- Preparing pallet shipments supplying dimensions and weights. Wrapping, labelling and ensuring paperwork is applied.
- Loading/unloading daily shipments
- Receive pallet deliveries, check off against paperwork ensuring notification to customers of receipt /transfers.
- Maintain warehouse and housekeeping. Ensure stock is put away in correct location, replenish from containers, maintain stock ready for counting.
- Support production and despatch teams with picking and shipping customer products.
- Maintain safety check records for machinery / FLT etc and uphold and abide by operating safety procedures.
Person specification
- Good literacy, numeracy, analytical and attention to detail
- Proven background in warehouse and distribution environment with at least 6 months experience
- Ability to adapt and work to changing priorities and seasonal demand
- Computer and keyboard skills with ability to learn courier dispatch system
- Counterbalance forklift license (preferred but not essential)
- Customer facing communication skills
- Good level of housekeeping, organization and Health & Safety within a production environment
- Punctual and flexible regarding hours and duties as some shift work maybe required
Hours of work & Pay
- £13.44 per hour
- Ongoing position
- Monday to Friday 8am - 4.30pm
- Free on-site parking
- Due to location would need to be able to drive and have access to own transport.
