HR Advisor

Due to continued growth, this FMCG organisation is wishing to recruit an experienced HR Advisor who will be based at their Distribution Centre on the outskirts of Newbury, Berkshire. The HR Advisor will provide a comprehensive support service to the line managers on site and the wider organisation. This is a full time permanent position, working on a hybrid basis with some travel required to other distribution centres within the region.

HR Advisor duties:

  • Act as a point of contact for employees and managers
  • Work to support, coach and mentor Team Leaders and Supervisors
  • Work with the team to action payroll-related requests, administrative needs and updates to the company's HR information system
  • Responsible for recruitment within the Distribution centre; source candidates through a variety of sourcing channels, review CVs,qualify/interview candidates, recommend initial first round of interviews, and ensure a good candidate experience
  • Responsible for ensuring new workers are appropriately inducted to the company and deliver the HR element of the on-boarding process
  • Conduct right to work checks,ensuring compliance with immigration standards
  • Monitor the UK HR inbox and respond to queries in a timely manner
  • Support the roll-out of global/national HR projects
  • Support the integration of company into logistics partner;aligning processes, policies and procedures as required
  • Ensure adherence to all Company Health & Safety Procedures
  • Manage the absence process; recording absence and holding absence reviews with line managers
  • Support the management of long-term sick and ill health capability cases
  • Manage a range of employee relations cases
  • Improve the quality of performance management, resourcing & talent management practice within area of responsibility

Experience

  • Previous experience of HR Advisory role and responsibilities ideally from within a warehouse environment
  • Experience of dealing with confidential and sensitive information whilst managing difficult situations/conversations

Skills/Qualifications

  • CIPD qualified or equivalent
  • Highly organised with strong time-management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to build strong term relationships
  • Proactive approach and able to work well under pressure
  • Full UK driving licence
