Russell- Taylor Group have a fantastic opportunity for a Technical Expert within HPLC to become an Equipment Team Leader of a small group of four. Our client is a global testing business, with this site focusing specifically on pharmaceutical analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, resourcing, overseeing, coordinating and scheduling the responsibilities of the equipment team
  • Provide in-house service to ensure timely routine maintenance, ad-hoc repairs, qualification and calibration of analytical and production equipment across the business, specifically HPLC equipment.
  • Ensure that planned and unplanned repair and servicing activities are performed efficiently.
  • Ensure that any repairs are raised through the equipment Helpdesk- resolving issues in a timely manner to ensure that downtime is minimised.
  • Monitor team performance against KPIs
  • Develop in-depth and specialist technical knowledge on a broad range of equipment including HPLC, Moisture Meters, Flow Meters, NGI's, Temperature Probes, Balances, and Pipettes.
  • Take a lead in procurement of new equipment.
  • Carry out tender processes and present to management for review.
  • Relocate existing equipment and lead the procurement of new equipment.
  • Ensure remote monitoring data for temperature-controlled equipment and environments are properly reviewed.
  • Ensure quality records are completed in a timely manner.
  • Provide updates to management relating to team performance, equipment issues and ongoing projects.

The Person

  • Educated to ideally degree level in a scientific discipline.
  • Experience of working with, maintaining and troubleshooting laboratory equipment, specifically HPLC.
  • Experience working within GMP would be advantageous
  • Ability to be flexible to meet the needs of the business
  • Management/Supervisory experience would be a bonus.
