UK Sales Manager Position Overview

My client based in Maidstone are a leading environmental services company in the South East offering liquid waste disposal, equipment for hire, treatment systems and pump sales. They are seeking a highly motivated and experienced UK Sales Manager to join our dynamic team.

As a UK Sales Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic sales plans to expand the company's customer base and solidify its presence within the wastewater industry. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of achieving growth and exceeding sales targets by effectively managing the sales team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identify and pursue new service business opportunities within the wastewater industry.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets.
  • Establishing a customer base within the Anglian Water, Severn Trent, Welsh Water and Thames Water regions.
  • Motivate and drive the current sales team to achieve individual revenue targets.
  • Continuous goal setting and performance evaluation of team
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, acting as their primary point of contact. Understand their needs, provide tailored solutions, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Proactively upsell and cross-sell products and services to increase account value
  • Provide exceptional customer support by resolving inquiries, addressing concerns, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of products and services.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers, offering technical expertise and guidance.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes within the wastewater sector. Identify potential market gaps and collaborate with the product development to introduce new offerings.
  • Monitor and capture customer feedback. Identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare and present compelling sales proposals, negotiate contract terms, and close deals. Develop a deep understanding of customer requirements and align them with company capabilities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date sales records, including pipeline management, forecasting, and revenue tracking using Salesforce.
  • Prepare regular sales reports and present findings to the senior management team.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including marketing, operations, and engineering, to align sales strategies and ensure seamless execution.
  • Foster a positive team spirit and contribute to a collaborative work environment.

UK Sales Manager Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (preferred)
  • Proven track record in sales and account management within the wastewater industry or a related field
  • Strong understanding of the wastewater treatment process and associated technologies
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Proficient in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite. (Experience using Salesforce would be advantageous.)

UK Sales Manager Position Remuneration

  • Salary £60,000- £70,000
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
