Financial Controller

Morgan Hunt are currently recruiting for a Financial Controller in Birmingham on a full time 12 month FTC basis. This Financial Controller role is paying up to £60,000 per annum.

The Financial Controller will be supporting with implementing new processes and controls as well as adding support to producing reports and accounts with the wider team.

Main Responsibilities of the Financial Controller:

  • Develop and implement an improved control framework using best practices and audit recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the Finance System team to identify and implement new system reports, and oversee preparation and review of data returns, VAT returns, and monthly balance sheet reconciliations, identifying process improvements throughout.
  • Review and update various policies, including accounting, fraud, and expenses, and work with the finance Business Partnering and Systems teams to foster effective working practices.
  • Represent the Head of Finance or Director when needed and embrace continuous improvement tools and techniques to modernise the finance function.

Person Specification of the Financial Controller:

  • Possess a CCAB-accredited accounting qualification with continuous professional development.
  • Demonstrated experience with financial statements and annual reporting.
  • Relevant experience implementing process improvements and reviews.
  • Experience with Capital accounts.
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Team collaboration
