About the Firm:
We are currently recruiting for a reputable and dynamic law firm based in London. We are searching on their behalf for an experienced and organised Legal Secretary to join the team and support their lawyers in delivering top-quality legal solutions.

Role Summary:
The Legal Secretary will provide essential administrative and secretarial support to attorneys, ensuring the smooth operation of the firm's day-to-day activities. This role requires an individual with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to managing deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Document Preparation: Draft, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, and reports to a high standard.
  • File Management: Organise, maintain, and update client files, both digital and physical, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
  • Diary Management: Schedule and manage appointments, meetings, and court dates, coordinating calendars to avoid conflicts.
  • Client Communication: Act as a primary point of contact for clients, answering calls, responding to emails, and handling inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Billing and Invoicing: Assist in preparing client bills, tracking billable hours, and managing invoicing-related queries.
  • Research Support: Conduct basic legal research and gather relevant case materials and documents as needed.
  • Office Support: Assist with general office duties, such as ordering supplies, liaising with couriers, and handling incoming and outgoing mail.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Legal Secretary, ideally in a law firm.
  • Education: A recognised Legal Secretarial qualification (e.g., CILEx or similar) is preferred but not essential.
  • Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and legal case management software. Excellent typing and transcription skills.
  • Attributes: Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
