Responsive Repairs Manager

We are working with a provider of social housing, who are looking to recruit a Responsive Repairs Manager initially on a 6-month interim basis.

With full responsibility of the voids and responsive repairs department, you will lead the team to deliver a consistent and accessible service for all customers to ensure they are able to live safely in their homes. You will ensure that all services are delivered in a person-centered way, with a clear vision for excellent customer service standards and a culture of striving to exceed customer expectation.

Duties will include:

Management and leadership of the team including:

  • Working with other service managers on the integrated asset management strategy.
  • Providing an efficient repairs and maintenance service.
  • Effective contracts management and partnering.
  • Maintaining stock condition data and ensuring Decent Homes compliance.

Provide expertise knowledge and Supervision in

  • Procurement and Contract management.
  • Specifications and building fault diagnosis.
  • Stock condition and property maintenance/improvement.
  • Repairs including void project management.
  • Void management and Decent Homes.

Provide leadership, guidance, support and advice on the following activities:

  • Damp and Mould case management including recording and monitoring performance in response.
  • Complaints and disrepair claims in liaison with Housing Performance and Legal teams and external legal representatives
  • Working with contract managers on the improvement/ modernisation of the housing stock, including programmed works.
  • Preparation of capital and revenue estimates and associated budget control.

Work with customers and colleagues to develop innovative approaches to support the timely turnover of voids.

Responsible for risk assessment and health & safety for Responsive Repairs and Voids teams and provide management oversight for contractor compliance assurance in health and safety matters.

To apply for this position, we are looking for someone who has previously worked in a similar position for a Social Housing provider, with a wealth of knowledge and experience of providing a customer focused service, and a good understanding and knowledge of a wide range of housing policy and legislation.

This is a full-time vacancy for a 6-month contract with the requirement to attend the office 2-3 times per week - work demand dependant.
