Salary: MPR1-UPR3 + TLR2 + SEN (£30,000 - £46,525 Plus TLR2 £7,847 + SEN £2,539)

Start Date: January 2025

City of Birmingham School is seeking an ambitious, inspirational, and enthusiastic professional to join our SENCO team in the newly created post of Deputy SENCO. The team, when complete, will consist of a Strategic SENCO and 2 Deputy SENCOs, leading the SEND provision across all our sites.

This position is a key appointment to the school, and as the SENCO team develops, we envisage significant changes in how we meet the needs of our pupils. Being a key part of leading these changes will be an exciting opportunity. The successful candidate will need to hold or be willing to complete a SENCO qualification.

Situated in centres across the city, our specialised teams of teachers and support staff work together to support pupils with complex social, emotional needs, and challenging behaviours. As the Pupil Referral Unit for Birmingham LA, we provide for those pupils who have been, or are at risk of, permanent exclusion, Children in Care, and those experiencing emotionally based school refusal. Additionally, our Outreach Team offers a traded service to local schools.
