Shift pattern: Day/Back shift/Night (sleepovers optional)

Job Type: Temporary (Full-time 37.5 Hours)

Location: Falkirk

Salary: £22,464 - £24,414 (depending on Qualifications)

We are seeking an experienced Residential Childcare Worker to join our team, providing a comprehensive residential service to Children and Young People. The role focuses on ensuring the physical, social, and emotional care and development of the children and young people in our care, with the aim of improving outcomes and providing positive experiences.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Ensure and promote the safeguarding of young people, adhering to protection procedures and policies.
  • Act as a key worker to specific young people, providing consistent support and care.
  • Assist in health promotion and personal hygiene development of the young people.
  • Work in line with young people's care plans.
  • Provide positive role modelling and maintain professional conduct in line with SSSC Codes of conduct.
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of the children and young people throughout the day and night.
  • Promote structure, boundaries, and domestic routines within the residential setting.
  • Participate in statutory reviews and meetings concerning the young people as required.
  • Provide and participate in leisure activities in line with the care and placement plans of the young people.
  • Develop and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues, children, and families.
  • Work as part of a team with colleagues and other professionals to meet the diverse needs of young people.
  • Support young people with education in a non-teaching capacity and assist with the Alternative Curriculum and Curriculum Enrichment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year UK Experience in residential childcare or a similar role.
  • Understanding of safeguarding procedures and the importance of child protection.
  • SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or HNC in Children and Young People is essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility.
