You will be joining the trade team at one of the largest employers in Midlothian, which, due to a new project being signed off, is looking to add an electrician as soon as possible.
Your new role
Hays are looking for a qualified and experienced electrician to join our team, focusing on the installation and maintenance of smoke alarm systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical work and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, test, and maintain smoke alarm systems in residential and commercial properties.
- Conduct regular inspections and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
- Ensure all installations comply with local and national safety regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service, including explaining the operation and maintenance of smoke alarms to clients.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, inspections, and maintenance activities.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need to be an 18th Edition Electrician with a valid ECS card. Due to the mobile nature of the role, you will need to have a valid UK driving licence and be able to be in the yard by 8am. The hours are Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week, and you will be reporting to the contract manager daily as well as working with other trades where required.
What you'll get in return
You will be offered a long-term contract which may have the potential to run for many years. You will be paid weekly and have the option for paid annual leave, or you may elect to take the holiday fund upfront.
