Quality Inspector (NDT)

As the Level 2 NDT inspector you are responsible for all aspects related to NDT processing and system verification inclusive of performing independent non-destructive testing and visual assesment of all manufactured products. All inspection activities will be performed using qualified techniques in accordance with regulatory and customer requirements, these include Visual, Fluorescent Penetrant and where applicable X-ray inspection.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Daily, Monthly, Annual checks.
  • Set up and standardise equipment, conduct tests, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection and document results.
  • Be familiar with processing product within the scope and limitations of the technique/method in which they are certified.
  • Have the skills and knowledge to conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standard.
  • Be capable of providing the necessary guidance and/or supervision to trainees and Level 1 personnel in the technique/method in which they are certified.
  • Be familiar with the codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control the method as utilised by the company
  • Be capable of developing product techniques and data cards in line with company and process specific procedures. These documents shall require final approval by a Level 3 certified in the applicable method.
  • Perform visual inspection including welds.
  • Perform fluorescent penetrant inspection.
  • Perform X-ray inspection (where applicable).
  • Partake in Nadcap audits.
  • Completion of all internal and external documentation relevant to the applicable inspection/ testing of product or process, e.g. Work card, inspection reports.
  • Non-conformance processing including the investigation into root cause of non-conforming product and the implementation of corrective and preventive action.
  • Review of associated equipment calibration records.
  • Have an active involvement in continuous improvement related to NDT processes.
  • Liaise with team members where required to feedback information relating to tested product.
  • Be familiar with the codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control the method as utilised by DAFL.
  • Work in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • You are expected to be familiar with the content of the Company's Health and Safety Policy, and particularly your responsibilities within the Policy.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Have a basic knowledge of product manufacturing and inspection technology and maintenance where appropriate.
  • Have the skills and knowledge to set up and standardise equipment, conduct tests, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection and document results.
  • Have the skills and knowledge to conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standard.
  • Reading, interpreting and understanding of drawings, work cards, specifications and other relevant technical documents.
  • An excellent eye for accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage workload independently to meet the monthly deadlines.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Good computer skills.

Qualifications

  • GCSE's (or equivalent) and/or relevant work experience.
  • Qualified in accordance with National Aerospace NDT Board (NANDTB) and NAS4/0 / EN4179.
  • Hold NDT Level 2 Certification (Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection) - Must have.
  • Hold NDT Level 2 Certification (Radiographic Inspection) - Desirable.

Working 5 days a week

Mon - Thurs: 6.00am - 2.00pm and Friday: 6.00am - 1.00pm

Mon - Thurs: 2.00pm - 10.00pm and Friday: 9.00am - 4.00pm
