Job Title: Quality Engineer (On Site)

Location: Skelmersdale (WN8)

Salary: Up to £35,500 - £53,200 (DOE)

Shifts: Mon- Thurs 07:50 - 16:45hrs and Friday 07:50- 12:10hrs

Contract: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract (PAYE)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quality Engineer for our client who specialise in manufacturing precision products for high profile clients/projects.

Reporting to the Quality Manager you will be responsible for initiating and performing defined quality activities leading to new or improves processes or systems.

As the Quality Engineer, your duties will be:

  • Initiates and completes technical activities leading to new or improved products, processes or systems that have a significant impact at a program level.
  • Establishes and cultivates a network of resources (laboratory, manufacturing, engineering, sales, and marketing) to facilitate completion of assignments.
  • Participates in project planning. Assists in establishing project objectives and priorities.
  • Maintains an awareness of quality improvement and product opportunities and is productive in suggesting and testing ideas.
  • Conducts and leads inter-laboratory test method studies.
  • Plans and leads quality system and process audits.
  • Documents results, observations and conclusions in technical notebooks (or approved electronic files) and prepares reports to communicate results to appropriate personnel. May occasionally train, counsel, and guide the technical and administrative work of others.

As the Quality Engineer you will have the following skills and experiences:

  • Must have an accredited degree within a relevant field.
  • Knowledge of basic quality systems such as Quality Manuals, ISO-9000, MBNQ, metrology, calibration, audits.
  • Must have knowledge in the use of basic statistical tools such as exploratory data analysis, basic statistics, Gage R&R
  • Good working knowledge of Analysis of Variance, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Statistical Process Control and Capability.
  • Excellent working knowledge of process improvement and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Ability to work and liaise with suppliers, customer and staff at all levels.
