Reed Accountancy have recently partnered up with a market leader who are looking for an Accountant to join their business on an FTC for 12 months. The right candidate will be able to hit the ground running following training and be able to demonstrate the experience listed below.
This is a hybrid role working 2 days from the office a week and 5 days in the office during month end.
Ideally the client is looking for an expert at reconciliations and someone who is used to a hands-on approach to accounts to help get everything back on track.
The Role
Banking & Treasury
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts weekly
- Prepare and submit weekly Treasury Reports
Month-End & Financial Reporting
- Manage nominal ledger period-end processes, including journals and accruals
- Produce Branch Packs and perform balance sheet reconciliations
- Calculate commissions and rebates
- Ensure accurate coding and oversight of expense ledger
Reporting & Analysis
- Generate weekly and monthly sales reports
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis as needed
Compliance & Audit
- Submit VAT returns to Head Office
- Support internal and external audit processes
The Person
- Strong understanding and hands-on experience across all areas of accounting
- Proficient in financial reporting and data analysis using advanced Excel skills
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and high-quality output
- IT literate with strong organisational and communication skills
- Adaptable, proactive, and capable of working independently or as part of a team
- Desirable: Experience in the retail or foodservice industry
What's on Offer
- Salary: £40,000–£45,000 per annum, based on experience
- Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility as needed
- Annual Leave: 25 days plus bank holidays
