Job Title: Machine Operator (CNC Shop)

Location: Hythe, Kent

Salary: £23,200

Hours: Monday to Thursday 8am - 5pm and Friday 8am- 1pm

Our Client:

Is a leading manufacturing and supplier of components for multiple industries. They offer a 360 degree service from design support, prototyping, assembly to the testing of finished products.

Role Summary:

To support the Machine Shop in achieving operational excellence and delivering high-quality products to our clients in a timely manner.

Key responsibilities within your new role would be to:

  • Operate machinery such as the grindmaster.
  • Sett up fixtures and jigs for milling and drilling.
  • Carry out deburring on components.
  • Use of a band saw and general bench work.
  • Produce parts of good quality, whilst ensuring maximum targets are met.
  • Assist in setting up and operating machines including CNC machines, lathes, mills, and presses.
  • Ensuring correct storage and organisation within the machine shop.
  • Conduct basic quality checks to ensure parts meet specifications.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the work area to uphold safety and efficiency standards.
  • Work closely with machine operators and other team members.
  • Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials for each job.
  • Load and unload raw materials and finished parts into the CNC machine.
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and productivity standards are met.

Experience and skills required for this position:

  • Experience of working in a factory environment using machine shop equipment.
  • Attention to detail is important for this role.
  • A basic knowledge of maths.
  • The ability to problem solve.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to perform repetitive tasks.
