We have an exciting opportunity to work as a permanent Senior Social Work Practitioner in our Crawley Community Team. The team is very supportive and you will benefit from a lot of variety of casework and supervision support.

About The Job

Salary: NJC Grade 12 £34,387 to £36,683 per annum
Working Pattern: Full time, 37 hours per week
Contract Length: Permanent
Location: Crawley
Closing Date: 28th May 2024

Applicants will need a good understanding of the statutory requirements of the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005 and to have a strong commitment to the strength-based approach empowering people to meet their outcomes using a mix of their own strengths, family support, community assets and where eligible, the right level of funded care, in the right setting.

Applicants will also need to have the skills in managing the expectations of customers and carers and to have sound negotiation skills and the ability to deliver difficult messages while seeking alternatives in line with our strengths based agenda.

You will need to have the skills to empower and support staff in their decision making. You will need to be assertive and articulate in having difficult conversations, but empathetic with an ability to negotiate for the best outcomes. As an SSWP, you will need to have experience of a supervisory role, or a strong foundation in understanding the importance of such, including having undertaken the training for this.

You will need to be committed to maintaining a strong social work value base within the team and support qualified and unqualified members of staff.
