Teaching Assistant (SEN) - Early Years
Location: Waltham Forest, East London
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Are you passionate about supporting young children with special educational needs? We are looking for a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years team in Waltham Forest. You will be working with children aged 3-5 who have a range of additional needs, including communication difficulties, developmental delays, and physical disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher in providing engaging, play-based learning experiences that cater to the individual needs of children with SEN.
- Assist in implementing personalised support plans and interventions, helping children develop their social, emotional, and academic skills.
- Work closely with speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and parents to ensure each child receives the right level of support.
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where children feel valued and supported.
- Monitor and record children's progress, providing feedback to the teacher and SENCO.
Requirements:
- Experience working with young children with special educational needs, ideally in an early years setting.
- A patient and nurturing approach, with a strong ability to build relationships with children.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A Level 2/3 qualification in Childcare or Special Educational Needs is desirable but not essential.
