I'm working on behalf of a brilliant special school that are looking for LSA's to join the team from term 2 on a full-time basis. We have worked closely with this school for years and I can confidently say how supportive of a team they are - the staff genuinely enjoy their work!
The school look after students with Complex Needs, ASD, SLD, MLD, PMLD & SEMH. The school are well established and are incredibly well respected in the local community, providing a valuable service.
The role
Due to the needs of the students it is essential that you have worked with special needs & disabilities, preferably within an educational setting. The role will be a mixture of providing general classroom support, 1-1 support and supporting the class teacher with whatever they need.
It's important that you feel confident dealing with challenging situations, are confident, patient, positive, enthusiastic and enjoy working as part of a team. The role of LSA in a special school can be tough, so requires people who are resilient and are prepared to get stuck into all aspects of school life!
