About the role

Base Location: Perth

Salary: £41,583 - £48,296 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time

The key duties & responsibilities of the OHL Maintenance Technician are:

  • To support the Maintenance Manager and Team Managers in the inspection and maintenance operations across the regions.
  • To plan, prepare and coordinate inspection, maintenance & repair activities on our 132, 275 & 400kV overhead lines. This will also require out of hours standby duties.
  • Responsibility for the safety of yourself and colleagues and roll out of toolbox talks and safety briefs.
  • Supervise overhead line teams and ensure accurate reporting of KPI's to the Team Manager.
  • Engage with relevant stakeholders to ensure clear communication and understanding of the works being completed.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

  • Industry recognised OHL qualification for both wood pole and steel tower access and rescue or previous experience in construction, maintenance or overhead line activities.
  • Knowledge of current operations and maintenance activities, electrical systems and their geography would be beneficial but not essential as informative training will be provided.
  • Ability to coach and mentor less experienced colleagues.
  • As this role requires travel to operational sites a full UK driving license is required.
  • Safety is a key priority at SSEN. You shall possess a high regard for safety, embedding yourself in our safety culture and adhering to guidelines. You should be comfortable in challenging any unsafe behaviours or attitudes and engage with your colleagues positively about safety.
