A small SME Construction business that is rapidly growing due to many new business wins across Kent, Essex, Cambridge and London is looking for a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join the team.
You will be joining a friendly team and will be overseeing all monthly applications and retentions and all contract and sub-contract purchases. Along with a salary of up to £35,000 per annum, you will also have the opportunity to earn a 10% bonus.
What you'll do as Junior Quantity Surveyor:
- Review and check the BOQ at the starting of the work.
- Prepare lists of the site needs (material, workers, technicians)
- Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for projects.
- Support the procurement process, including sourcing and evaluating subcontractors and suppliers, and preparing tender documentation.
- Assist in the preparation and administration of contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and contractual obligations.
- Monitor project costs, identify variances from the budget, and provide regular financial reports to senior management.
- Identify and assess potential risks to project finances and assist in developing mitigation strategies.
- Work closely with project manager, contracts manager and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and project coordination.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions, contracts, and correspondence related to the projects.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant legislation, regulations, and company policies.
We're looking for a Junior Quantity Surveyor with:
- Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, or Qualified by Experience
- Some experience in quantity surveying, preferably working for a SME
- Familiarity with systems Eque2/Sage for Construction
- Basic understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and construction principles.
