CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator - Turning

  • Salary: Up to £40,500 (depending on skills)
  • Contract: Permanent, Full Time
  • Hours: 39 per week, Mon-Thu 8am to 5pm (30 mins lunch), Friday 8am to 1pm (no lunch)

Join our team and contribute to the production of aerospace components by programming, setting, and operating CNC Turning Machines. This role is ideal for someone passionate about precision engineering and continuous improvement in a high-tech environment.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Program CNC 2 & 3 axis lathes with live tooling online using Fanuc controls.
  • Set up machines and produce first offs to ensure that all requirements are met and that standards and tolerances are repeatable.
  • Operate multiple machines as required.
  • Produce machine set-up documentation.
  • Stay updated with cutting technology; identify and develop new processes for continuous improvement in CNC machining.
  • Liaise with management to ensure timescales are met or to advise of potential difficulties.
  • Provide technical solutions to production-related process issues in collaboration with production management.
  • Work with Engineering / Quality departments to ensure compliance with company procedures and maintain quality assurance.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping.
  • Mentor new staff as required.
  • Help create and maintain a safe working environment by observing published Health and Safety procedures.
  • Carry out other reasonable and relevant tasks when required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in programming, setting, and operating CNC Turning Machines.
  • Proficient in using Fanuc controls.
  • Strong understanding of production standards and quality control regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and learning.
