We are seeking a diligent Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our finance team on an 8-month maternity cover contract within the construction industry. This role is based in Chatham and is ideal for an organised individual who is available to start immediately and can manage accounts payable effectively.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Processing purchase invoices and reconciling supplier statements.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate payment of supplier invoices.
  • Resolving purchase ledger discrepancies and queries.
  • Assisting with month-end closing procedures and reporting.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal departments.
  • Handling expense claims and processing payments.
  • Assisting with ad hoc financial tasks and reporting as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Purchase Ledger Clerk or in a similar accounts payable role.
  • Immediate availability to start the contract is highly preferred.
  • Experience within the construction industry is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial processing.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
