FINANCE MANAGER - 12 month Fized Term Contract

Location: Northampton

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to join a leading global retailer. This role is a maternity cover contract for 12 months, based in Northampton. As the Finance Manager, you will directly manage one direct report and lead the monthly reporting alongside be a integral business partner to the Property, Tech and Commercial teams.

What you'll do:

As a Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Financial Controller to deliver all financial reporting services. Your expertise in accounting will be crucial in managing more complex aspects of our P&L and Balance Sheet. You will also be responsible for ensuring that appropriate financial controls and processes are operating across our organisation. With your keen eye for detail, you will ensure that reporting is accurate and representative of actual performance.

  • Support in the month-end close and production of monthly management accounts for the business
  • Ensure all key month-end postings are carried out on an accurate and timely basis
  • Liaise with key budget holders in the business to ensure all costs are recognised correctly in the management accounts
  • Ensure that key Balance Sheet accounts are understood and properly reflect the business operations
  • Prepare monthly cost centre reports and other ad hoc reports for key business managers
  • Carry out ad hoc analysis of financial performance as needed
  • Coach and support you direct report
  • Support the Finance Director and CFO with the financial management of the Group as needed

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Finance Manager role is ACCA/ACA qualified with experience in preparing management accounts, including key account reconciliations and cost variance analysis. You should have strong all-round computer skills, with intermediate or advanced Excel skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are a must, as well as a strong work ethic. The ability to work to tight deadlines and manage your workload independently is also crucial for this role.
