Head of Cyber Security – circa £150,000 – Hybrid – Global Consultancy

Overview:

We are seeking a Head of Cyber Security for one of our global consultancy clients. This role will oversee the Cyber Security team, ensuring robust technology, controls, and processes to safeguard devices, data, and digital networks from cyber threats.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading, mentoring, and supporting the Cyber Security team.
  • Taking overall responsibility for the organisation's cyber security.
  • Collaborating with IT Management to define and implement the cyber security strategy and roadmap.
  • Identifying cyber security gaps and opportunities proactively.
  • Participating in IT strategy planning activities, contributing current knowledge and future vision of cyber security relevant to the business needs.
  • Analysing trends and developing long-term plans to maintain the effectiveness of the company's cyber security strategies.
  • Contributing to the design and build of cloud-based infrastructure and architecture with a focus on cyber security optimisation.
  • Working with software development teams to ensure cyber security best practices in the design and build of customer-facing platforms and applications.
  • Creating and maintaining documentation on the use of cyber security technologies within the organisation.

Required Experience:

  • Extensive knowledge of cyber security with a solid technical background.
  • Experience in managing and leading teams.
  • In-depth understanding of application security and experience collaborating with software development teams to ensure best security practices.
  • Significant experience with endpoint detection and response (EDR) and network detection and response (NDR) technologies.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Information Security standards, including Cyber Essentials, Cyber Essentials Plus, and ISO27001.
  • Strong understanding of Linux and database technologies.
  • Familiarity with cyber security practices related to cloud hosting, preferably AWS.
  • Understanding of Service Management disciplines, ideally within the ITIL framework.
  • Ability to stay current with technology trends and understand key technical drivers in the industry.

  • Up to £150,000
