Accounts and Tax Manager - first mover to management

Posted by Reed.

The company –

A well-established accountancy practice in a convenient, affluent location just outside Cambridge, away from the hustle (and hassle!) of the city centre traffic with easy links to surrounding motorways and close to public transport.

The team has grown over the years to a comfortable size, big enough to meet their clients' requirements and offer progression, but small enough so that you feel like a true team member.

The role –

The firm have engaged Reed Practice to recruit a qualified (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) Senior Accountant to join as Accounts & Tax Manager in response to a growing need of the firms' services from both additional and new business driven by the Directors.

As Accounts & Tax Manager your primary focus initially will be the creation and completion of financial statements and associated tax returns for a selection of clients, for the Directors' sign off. There is a dedicated Payroll Manager and Senior Bookkeeper you will partner with to produce the figures.

Some of the work the firm is bringing in is more complex including tax planning, probate and IHT, and whilst there are Tax Managers in the firm, there will be an opportunity for you to develop your knowledge in this area also should you wish to.

At present the Accounts & Tax Manager post does not have immediate staff responsibilities however as part of the growth plans of the firm, they will be recruiting Trainees of which this post will mentor.

The desired applicant –

Given the current and future scope of this exciting opportunity, to be considered and apply it is essential that you have trained and qualified (or close to qualifying) in an accountancy practice, either for a UK firm or working to regulations easily transferable to UK GAAP. You will likely be a Senior Accountant (or equivalent) looking for that next step.

You will be very comfortable working in a dynamic small and close team, excited by the idea of joining a firm who are about to embark on heightened path of growth and the responsibility of the role as it evolves.

Contact Natalie Harden at Reed in Cambridge for a discussion or apply now for consideration.
