Technical Finance Reporting Manager - Life Insurance

What this role is all about:

The primary purpose of the role is to support the Life Finance Director with the financial reporting for the VitalityLife business unit. This hands-on role will have a broad remit to lead on the financial reporting of VitalityLife and to support the wider business with related matters. It will have a specific focus on IFRS 17 reporting (group and statutory reporting) as well as Solvency II reporting.

Key Actions

  • Ensuring the timely and accurate of IFRS 17 and Solvency II reporting including:

  • Annual Report and Accounts and technical disclosures

  • Annual Solvency and Financial Condition Report (SFCR)

  • Annual and half yearly Solvency II Quantitative Reporting Templates (QRTs)

  • Full-year and interim Group Reporting (via the OneStream system)

  • Working closely with the wider finance (local and group) team and actuarial valuation team to provide support, knowledge and guidance relating to technical reporting matters in particular IFRS 17 GMM and Solvency II own funds.

  • Develop and maintain a best-in-class financial reporting control framework.

  • Own the UK accounting policies and application in Vitality.

  • Lead on technical reporting process improvements, automation and data management.

  • Primary contact for the external and internal auditors for all technical reporting matters.

  • Supporting the process of understanding the financial results, including period on period movements.

What do you need to thrive?

  • Qualified accountant with significant post qualification experience in the insurance sector.
  • Recent hands-on experience on IFRS 17 General Measurement Reporting.
  • Proven history of producing high quality financial reporting in a fast paced and changing environment.
  • Strong technical understanding of IFRS 17 GMM technical concepts.
  • Strong writing skills and ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Strong, self-driven work ethic in both a team and independent setting.
  • High level of IT proficiency - Excel, General Ledger, Reporting System.
  • VitalityLife has a June year end and therefore flexibility of working hours in the busy period of July, August and September is required.
