Accounts Assistant

Reed Accountancy in Oxford are pleased to be exclusively partnering with a Kidlington based company to help source an Accounts Assistant. This role is a generally all encompassing finance role in an SME environment. The role offers a salary of up to £30,000 per annum (based on experience), study support, company bonus scheme, enhanced pension, life insurance, 30 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), hybrid working (in the office Tuesday & Wednesday), free onsite parking and the opportunity to join a close knit finance function.

  • Full ownership of the purchase ledger. Processing supplier invoices, setting up and maintaining supplier accounts in Xero.
  • Full ownership of supplier payment runs, to include raising a remittance advice and importing bank payments to the business internet bank account.
  • Tracking accruals and pre-payments related to supplier invoices
  • Monitor the internal purchase order tracker (supports the purchase ledger processing & month end accruals).
  • Process employee credit card and cash expenses
  • Manage invoice queries from clients and suppliers
  • Monthly reconciliation of consultancy revenue (delivered v billed). Tracking business work in progress and deferred income.
  • Raise sales invoices during busy periods
  • Cash allocation of incoming receipts – holiday cover only
  • Consulting with project managers, project co-ordinators and psychologists to support and maintain a healthy cash conversion cycle
  • Prepare the monthly profit and loss statement for the consultancy business, to assist with month end management accounts
  • Balance Sheet reconciliation, assisting the Finance Manager with month end/year end accounts
  • Support the Finance Manager with review and maintaining of the business Fixed Asset Register
  • Support the Finance Manager with bank reconciliations

The role is an ideal opportunity for a bright, ambitious accounts individual with some strong initial experience, but who is also keen to learn and develop. Ideally you will be part or fully AAT qualified or similar, with a positive attitude to team work in a close knit environment and a "can do" attitude. Ideally experience on Xero (or a range of systems) as well as proficiency on Excel is key.
